In a short period of time (less than 3 months) Gloryland Gospel Radio has become very popular. We have listeners from every state in the nation and from most oversea countries. And, for that we thank all of our supporters.

One aspect of the broadcast is to feature groups from different states each month. For instance, this month we are featuring groups from the State of Louisiana, April 15 through 17, 2010. And, we’ll be featuring groups from New York and New Jersey April 21 through 24, 2010.

In anticipation of the April 21, 2010, broadcast, we received three (3) CDs from Wayne Anthony Norwood and The Children of God of Rochester, New York. Two were recorded in 2008 – My Change and I Came To Serve Him. The CD titled Difference was recorded in 2009.

The Children of God have been together for over 38 years. Looking at the pictures, it is obvious that some of the members are yet to reach their twenties. Clearly, the group has been replenished with young members. The only original member remaining is Wayne Anthony Norwood. The other members are ANTOINE’ NORWOOD (age 18), JONATHAN HUNTER (age 19), JAMES HUNTER, JR. (age 16), and CHRIS NORWOOD (age 18).

Listening to the CDs, nothing about this group suggests they have not been together for many, many years. Even the young members sing like they have been at it for years. To hear a young group handle ballads as smooth as The Children of God is truly extraordinary. They turned “99 ½” into a ballad that is as smooth as silk. And, if you think they are one-dimensional, listen to their A Cappella rendition of “Little Talk.” In addition, the guys have incorporated some familiar musical chords from the 70s and 80s into several of the songs.

This is another one of those groups that has the talent to be on a major label. And, they have a unique style of gospel. Yes, it is quartet, but not with the hard drive or heavy southern influence. Their music deserves to be shared with the world.
